Angel Sechtig's culinary career

Hello my name is Angel Sechtig and I am a WFBHS alumni currently employed as a Senior Event Manager with Saz's Catering. After graduating from M.A.T.C.'s Culinary Apprenticeship Program with certificates in both Culinary Arts and Cake Decorating, I spent over a decade working my way through a kitchen, from line cook to Sous Chef, before joining Saz's. The simplest explanation of my job is that when there is a event being planned, I am in charge of managing all the day of functions and making sure the event is successful. Some of my duties include driving, loading and unloading trucks, bringing all equipment, linens, food, and any other necessities to the event location, setting up culinary and service equipment, cooking and serving food while following health code, managing culinary, service, and bar staff, and solving any problems that may arise during the event. One of my favorite things as an Event Manager is being able to say I've worked events with 2 to 15,000 people, from the Illinois border up to Lambeau Field, and in a variety of locations such as private homes, boats, airplane hangers, museums, sport and music venues, as well as Summerfest and State Fair.
