TV/Film Producer Steve Chicorel '77

Steve Chicorel of the class of 1977 was inducted into the Fine Arts Hall of Fame in December 2024. He has been a producer of film and television, both nationally and internationally. The strategic partnership between Shoreline Entertainment and Organic Media Group, which Steve  co-founded, has operations in Taipei, Los Angeles, London, Riga and Brisbane.

Steve has multiple series, broadcasts on national television and feature films to his credit, plus he has been a production executive and delivered projects such as the animated feature, “Panda vs. Aliens”, the last creative work by Marvel’s Stan Lee. He was instrumental in importing numerous western titles, including Lionsgate’s “The Hunger Games” into mainland China.

Believe it or not, Whitefish Bay sports led Steve to be a producer! Coaches Albrightson, Sorgent and Bleier were all influential in football and track by instilling “team playership”. And that’s what - believe it or not- Steve believes motion pictures are all about:  being part of a team and seeking to be a leader without ego. Even though Steve was offered a full scholarship to a U.S. college, he chose a European school and played rugby, again with an advantage from football training. Later he started acting and his WFB theater buddies subtly inspired him!

But back to sports —- Steve believes that win/lose in sports, it’s about not giving up in the 4th quarter or ever … toughing it out, believing in one’s self AND for Steve that all started at WFBHS. Oh, and that’s why Steve Chicorel brought his children back to WFB after they grew up in Taiwan. Steve loved high school and is thankful for all that he experienced on and off the field.
